Can you handle all this CUTENESS?!?

In general, I am opposed to Baby Gap, with all those expensive (albeit cute) clothes that your baby will just outgrow in a matter of months (or weeks, in Earle's case).

But while Christmas shopping a couple weeks ago, we just couldn't help but go inside and play dress-up.

Can you blame us?

Halloween

Here are some photos of our Halloween. It was really fun, even if it was daylight for most of the trick-or-treat time. I guess that made photos a lot easier to take. (Or it would have, except the camera batteries died about 10 min into our journey).

Keeneland

I took Manbear Cub and B and some of her friends to Keeneland last week. We had a good time.

The crotchety old men behind us really enjoyed smiling at E and getting "tips" from the girls.

SNL clip

You have to watch this video. I don't often stay up anymore to watch SNL but I did this past Saturday because I knew they would do a parody on the VP debate.

By the way, do you think it was coincidence that the first time Earle truly slept through the night--9:30pm-6:30am, it was when I gave him his bedtime bottle while we were watching the debate? Bored him so much he slept through the night?

Snips and Snails

And puppy dog tails. That's what little boys are made of.
And here's the puppy that's sitting on my typewriter chair this afternoon. We don't get to keep her. Sigh. She's getting shipped to Canada in 2 days for the boss's son, who lost his dog to cancer a couple weeks ago.

But I'll enjoy her while I can....

Playing Dress-up

Earle doesn't like to play dress-up. Which is unfortunate, because he has several cute articles of clothing and accessories that I want to put on him, but he doesn't like to "model." He will be perfectly happy wearing them, until I try to set him up and take a picture. Then he gets mad. In this photo, he is modeling the "Tomato Hat" that my sorority sister, Chalyn, knit for him. She is in vet school in Scotland. God bless her for finding time to knit my baby a hat while studying for exams! And she knit one for another friend, so whenever she has her baby (girl, finally someone is having a girl), then they can model them together. Although by then, Earle may be 20 lbs and wearing 2T's. You will notice the pacifier in his mouth. I shoved it in to stop the crying. In the next photo he is modeling his Winnie-the-Pooh bathrobe. Whoever designed this bathrobe obviously never had a baby. First of all, it is impossible to get it on--the sleeves are too narrow and it's just difficult to get any long-sleeved item on a freshly-washed, lotioned baby. They are clammy. Second, the hood part is way too tall. The shoulders are narrow. And it clearly is not full-coverage. I don't know why a baby would need a shorty-robe. Come to think of it, I don't know why a baby needs a bathrobe at all. Or slippers, since he's not walking around on the cold floor yet. This robe was a gift. A very cute gift, but he'll never wear it again. It may look like he's laughing, but really he's fixing to cry. Poor kid! And last we have his turtle outfit. He really likes wearing the turtle outfit. Just not sitting in the corner of the couch to model it. Oh well....

Family Resemblance?

Hubby's aunt thinks that Man-Bear Cub bears a striking resemblance to Winston Churchill.
